Scientific Explanation

A “year” is defined as the exact time it takes a planet to complete one full revolution around the Sun (its orbital period). Because Earth is 1 Astronomical Unit (AU) from the Sun, it takes 365.25 days to complete an orbit.


Kepler’s Third Law of Planetary Motion shows that planets farther from the Sun have much larger orbits and move slower. Your planetary age is calculated by: Earth Age in Days ÷ Planet Orbital Period in Earth Days.
